Staying true to our commitment to lifelong learning, so that we can bring cutting-edge knowledge and the very best in evidence-based medicine to our patients and referring vets, two of our ophthalmologists (Savina Gogova & Keri-Lee Dobbie) attended the annual scientific meeting of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ECVO) in Amsterdam at the end of May.
The conference theme was Exotic Animal Ophthalmology, with many lectures and a masterclass dedicated to this topic. In collaboration with Rowe Referrals, the BVS Ophthalmology, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging and Soft Tissue Surgery teams (a truly multidisciplinary approach!), also contributed to the scientific programme by means of a poster describing a rare ossifying fibroma of the left calvarium that caused exophthalmos in a 5y FN Boxer. Savina, who is a European specialist in veterinary ophthalmology, also had the honor of chairing one of the scientific sessions that focused on education and training resources in veterinary ophthalmology.
